What is 'Eat Like a Goddess'?

'Eat Like a Goddess' harnesses the stories of mythical figures to bring you a nutrition plan worthy of your inner goddess.

I love healthy eating, and I hate restriction. Sometimes, healthy eating can feel really boring and 'worthy'. There are so many messages suggesting that there is something 'wrong' with our bodies, and that the new year is time to change.

Instead, I invite you to embrace healthy eating by celebrating all the wonderful aspects of yourself through looking at the attributes of incredible mythological females and how they relate to you. Each goddess will not only inspire you to celebrate yourself, but will also gift us a day of delicious, healthful eating using recipes from all over the world.

Each day we'll enjoy a fabulous goddess bowl packed with nutrition, and a chunky, fragrant soup to keep you warm whatever the weather.

If that doesn't feel like enough food, there will be suggestions for other things to enjoy. Remember, your inner goddess won't settle for boring food, dull colours or punitive restriction, and neither should you.

The aim is to inspire you to nurture yourself with delicious, nourishing meals inspired by powerful stories. You could enjoy more energy, better sleep, glowing skin and a bit of an antidote to the winter blues.

FAQs

I'm at work all day . Will this work for me?

I'm often at work all day, and into the evening too. This is designed specially for people like you and me who are always on the go and need to have something that's going to nourish them through the long working day.

I don't have much time to cook. Is this going to involve hours in the kitchen?

Absolutely not! I have the same problem as you, so I've specifically devised these recipes to be quick to prepare. Some of them may take a little longer, so save those for the days when you're a little less frenetic, or skip them and repeat some of the other recipes. This plan really is designed to be flexible.

On that note, I really hate being told what to do. How would this work for me?

If this is you, I'm with you. If anyone tries to tell me what to do, they release my inner demon, not my inner goddess. There are so many ways you can adapt this plan to suit you. If you don't like some of the recipes, swap them for ones you do like. If you don't have a particular ingredient available, use something else and ask me for suggestions if you're stuck. If you want your goddess bowl in the evening and your soup in the day, do that. Going away for the weekend? No problem. You don't need to do the 12 days consecutively. Want to add in a luxury breakfast and some power snacks. Do it! I'll give you suggestions.

I'm a vegetarian/vegan/Kosher/Halal/gluten free. Is this suitable for me?

Most of the recipes on this plan are plant-based. All of them are gluten free. There are some recipes which include fish, chicken, cheese or eggs, but in each case I'll give you suggestions of what you could include instead. There's no pork or shellfish, so Kosher and Halal folk will be fine. With a little tweaking, this plan will suit most dietary needs.

The price is £25.00, or just over £2 a day. Remember that you'll get a menu plan, shopping list, recipe book, daily inspiration, videos and cook-alongs and Facebook support, so it really is great value. Welcome to my world. I'm Susannah and I'm a size-friendly nutritional therapist. I come from a long line of good home cooks who have lived and eaten all over the world, so I bring with me a joy of food and an appreciation of what different cultures can bring to the table.

As well as this, I have a first class honours degree in nutritional therapy and nearly 3 decades' experience of teaching, so I know how to pack my experiences with information and enable you to have fun at the same time.

As well as my nutrition work, I'm a Head Teacher and tutor with a passion for acting and a mum in her 90s, so you can imagine that my days are packed! That's why I'm on a mission to bring you nutrition-packed food that won't take hours to prepare or break the bank.
